We are a group of 7 friends and call ourselves “Eat Drink Cycle” group. This time we decided to do a trip to Puglia. This was one of the best trips we made so far. We just finished the Avignon to Aigues Morte; Provence and the Camargue Wilderness. 5 stars in every aspect! Our guide, Hein, crew, Alicia, captain, Lucie and cook, Giuseppe (?) were excellent. 8 of us rode regular city bikes. We are all fit and experienced cycling couples in our 60s and 70s and had no problems. For others, I would recommend eBikes. There were some serious hills, especially on day 5 and the Mistral, the cool, north wind was 20 mph or more on some of the days. A Fantastic Bike and Barge Experience from Venice to Mantova! Our bike and barge trip from Venice to Mantova was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. Each day’s ride was beautifully planned, with amazing scenery, charming towns, and just the right balance of activity and relaxation. The daily stops gave us such a rich taste of Italian culture, history, and countryside life. The food on board was fabulous — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — truly a highlight of the trip. Accommodations were excellent, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained throughout the journey. Most of all, the guides and entire crew were exceptional. Their knowledge, warmth, and genuine enthusiasm brought everyone together and created such a fun, friendly atmosphere among the group. This was an unforgettable adventure — perfectly organized, wonderfully led, and deeply memorable. Would certainly recommend this trip to others. We had great tour leaders Silvia and Caterina, food was amazing, and everyone on the crew were so helpful. I would definitely recommend Girolibero bike and barge tours. We were lucky enough to do the Venice to Mantova trip with the lovely ladies Silvia and Caterina as our Tour Leaders. They were so friendly and helpful and both had a great sense of humour! We spent alot of time laughing!! 😃 The food on board was absolutely delicious cooked by the wonderful chefs Alberto and Michaela, and our Captain Riccardo and Technical engineer Francesco were both wonderful personalities as well, making the trip so pleasant.
